Coming back from a beach stroll at dusk

In a recent stay Halcyon House certainly did provide space for several blissful, carefree, idyllic days. Blessed was I to join my dear friend Kate Kendall on the sunny beach of Cabarita, at the very north of NSW east coast.

This boutique hotel is thoughtfully styled to elicit old world charm of halcyon days gone by. The staff are caring and friendly, the setting is perfectly charming – perched along the seashore, not much else around. It’s an easy drive into Byron Bay or to the foot of Mount Warning for your nature fix.

Paper Daisy

The restaurant at HH, Paper Daisy, is a highlight – sweetly decorated and abundant in fresh healthy fare, I also loved sitting at the bar with a tea and a book. You don’t have to be a guest to dine or hang here, stroll in straight off the beach.

I love the playful feel to this elegant establishment, it reminded me to make light of life and enjoy the simplest acts.

The 1950s roadside motel vibes linger but she’s all class.
